“Loyal hand”, “Eagle eye” and other prize winners of DIRECT HIT 2006

It happened! The best direct marketing projects of open competition Direct Hit 2006 were announced on 26th of April. Competition was conducted within International Business-Forum in direct marketing, CRM and distance trade “Direct Marketing Days in Ukraine 2006”.

Annual Competition on the best DM-project, organized by DM-Agency OS-Direct, has been lasting for several months: half a year has passed from submitting an application by the first participant to winner’s names announcement. This year the Competition was really international – not only Ukrainian companies participated there but also companies from Russia, Belarus and Croatia.

There were 67 works submitted to the Competition but according to the rules only 21 projects got into the Final. Competent Jury, which consisted of DM and advertising experts was headed by Jørgen Nygaard Andreassen, Vice-President in Marketing and Membership, Federation of European Direct & Interactive Marketing (FEDMA). On 26th of April the developers of projects defended their works personally. Many of them shared the emotional experience with their supporters – the representatives of companies-clients. All projects caused questions and discussions, but the Jury had most difficult work – their meeting was really long.
 
The strictness of Jury was appreciated by Competition participants and guests of Business-Forum on the ceremonial award party. Instead of expected 7 Black Belts in Direct Marketing – the highest award of the Competition, only 4 of them were presented. The Jury found impossible to give the 1st place in such nominations as “Telemarketing”, “Complex DM-projects” and “DM in complex advertising campaigns”. In the same time all special diplomas were awarded. The sponsor of the award party of Direct Hit 2006 was Austrian Post.

The culmination moment of the awarding was the Grand Prix announcement. The project of Private Bank “Credit card in exchange for MMS” got the Direct Hit 2006 Grand Prix. Private Bank team is a Competition Grand Prix holder for the third year in a row. The main prize was given by Natalia Padun, Corporative development deputy director of InforManager – the sponsor of Direct Hit 2006Grand Prix.

The winners of the Competition Direct Hit 2006:

In the nomination “Distance trade” the title “Black Belt in Direct Marketing” (1st place) and Competition Grand prix was given to project “Credit card in exchange for MMS” of Private Bank. Second place was awarded to another Private bank work “Virtual exchange”. Jury decided not to award the 3d place.

In the nomination “Direct mail B2B” the title “Black Belt in Direct Marketing” (1st place) was given to work of Imago advertising agency (Croatia) for ÒÌ Nescafe «Hire me! Will work for coffee! »
Second place was awarded to the Bureau of Marketing Technologies (Ukraine) work “The bag you can’t deny from”. Third place was given to work “Computer HP among hazel nuts” of Visage Advertising Limited (Ukraine), for Hewlett-Packard.

In the nomination “Direct mail Â2Ñ” the title “Black Belt in Direct Marketing”  was given to the DM-Agency OS-Direct (Ukraine) work «ÎÒÒÎ: Hello, dear!».
Jury didn’t award 2d place, but the 3d place was given to the work of Cigar House “Fortune” (Ukraine) “ 10 Magic Fortune Matches”.

In the nomination “Telemarketing” Jury decided not to award the title “Black Belt in Direct Marketing” and the 2d place. The project of DM-Agency “Hot press” (Russia) called “Internet program “Loyal” won the 3d place.  

In the nomination “DM with the use of interactive channels (web, sms, å-mail, iVR, DRTV)” the title “Black Belt in Direct Marketing”  was given to the project of Belarusian portal Diva.by, Astronim , “Choose your style or Do you know the Cotex well?” Jury didn’t mark other works.

In the nomination “Complex DM_projects” Jury awarded only 2d place (OS-Direct, «Unitech Bau: Is it possible not to return the invitation?”) and 3d place (Direct Marketing Centre (Russia), “DM-campaign on promoting furniture porolon  LAFFA”). The title “Black Belt in Direct Marketing” was not awarded.

In the nomination “DM in complex advertising campaigns” Jury marked only 2 place  (OS-Direct, “They still believe in Santa Claus”) and 3d place  (Private Bank, Program “PrivateBusinessClub”). The title “Black Belt in Direct Marketing” was not awarded.

Special diplomas were awarded to projects: For originality: Imago advertising agency, «Hire me! Will work for coffee!»
For the best low budget campaign: portal Diva.by, Choose your style or Do you know the Cotex well?”
For the best design and polygraphs: of DM-Agency “Hot press” “Pockets under the signature”
For the best loyalty program: Private Bank, Program “PrivateBusinessClub”
For the best text of advertising letter: OS-Direct, «ÎÒÒÎ: Hello, dear!»
Traditionally, the partners of DM Days awarded their own prizes.

Special diploma from Austrian Post “For the most effective direct mail” was given by Igor Zubov, the Head of International Business Development Department Austrian Post, to the representatives of Printing House “Ledokol”  for the work “Ticket to the Moon” for the carton plant “Lunapak”

Special prize from ROI Communications “for the best DM-orientation” was given to the Bureau of Marketing Technologies (Ukraine) for the work “The bag you can’t deny from”.
Special prize from Beeper for “The most effective project” was awarded to Private Bank “Credit card in exchange for MMS”
Special prize from DM-Agency “Hot press” for the best text of advertising letter was given to OS-Direct work “They still believe in Santa Claus”

The novelty of this year is the special nomination for journalists “DM: journalist view”
On the Reklamaster site all articles participated in the Competition are represented in the open access. The best article is considered to be the article of Victoria Roschupkina («PROMOmix») «What can be a result of mailing?». The prize was given by Alexey Furman, editor of information portal Reklamaster, member of Competition Jury. Author gets special prize – participation in time-management training from kiev.trainings.ru.
